| Iain Thomson is the Singing Shepherd - A folk singing solo act with a repertoire of Scottish, Irish and contemporary songs and tunes. The Iain Thomson band is available for ceilidh dancing and festivals. Iain's CD 'The Long Road Home' is very popular and selling extremely well. It is being played regularly on Radio Scotland and many local radio stations. Click here to listen to samples from the CD Click here to buy the CD Iain was brought up in Dumfries and started learning piano at the age of 7 by the age of 15 Iain had moved on from the discipline of classical piano to take up the guitar and and singing. And so started a long love for singing and song writing. Within a few years Iain was developing his own unique style playing a 12 string guitar. By 1987 Iain had gathered a large repertoire of traditional and self penned songs, he could be found gigging regularly around Mull and released his first hugely successful tape, "To a working Collie" A second CD followed in 1989 which was also successful featuring more original material this time focusing on life and the surroundings of Mull. Iain left Mull in 1996 and spent 7 restless years on the road, much of the time working in an urban, sometimes alien environment. This was a world apart from the music and landscape that had been a large part of his life. Due to changing circumstances and an almost magnetic draw Iain returned to Mull in 2005. Ardbeg house overlooks the village of Dervaig, and is set in an acre of garden grounds. The Isle of Mull is an important destination for wildlife watchers, We have our own Owls nesting in the Garden at Ardbeg house and regularly have red deer in our gardens. |

Rowan cottage has been in the family for 4 generations, in 1998 a major refurbishment plan was undertaken, to upgrade the cottage to its present STB 3 Star Grading classification. During the summer months you will find this area an abundance of colour with pots and troughs of flowers. A bus service stops at the village post office where a timetable is available. Normally the bus service meets all summer ferries at Craignure. Private car parking is available opposite the cottage. Salen is one of the most central points on the island. The largest town Tobermory, is to be found 10 miles to the North and the historical and spiritual island of Iona is 46 miles to the South. |

Callachally House is a large farmhouse, sitting in its own enclosed grounds of just under an acre. Surrounded by mature trees, it is sheltered and private. On still summer nights you can just hear the murmur of waves. Sea Eagles are often seen from the sunny garden at the back of the house. |
